Conflict-Induced Shocks and Household Food Security in Nigeria

Conflicts such as the Boko Haram insurgency, herder–farmer conflicts, and armed banditry attacks are major concerns affecting livelihoods food security of households in Nigeria. In this paper, firstly, we reviewed synthesized nature, spatial extent, implications conflicts on Secondly, using survey data econometric models, examined effects conflict-induced shocks, forced migration fatality household indicators. Our review shows that underlying causes for majority violent Nigeria linked to competition productive resources, economic inequality, ethnoreligious tensions.
